Rural e-box
As part of this project, there was a need for marketplace platforms, a virtual place where many suppliers offer their goods in one place and the customer has easy access to each of them.
As project contractors, we had many challenges to overcome with a predefined budget. Among other things website in many languages, which allows easy registration of vendors/suppliers. The shop has the possibility to sell goods by quantity and weight. We have created the website in accordance with accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
The specific approach with the Rural E-box is that, unlike other marketplaces, in our case the retailers are the direct suppliers and it is they who are promoted and not the online shop managers, as is the case, for example, on platforms such as Zalando.
Thanks to marketplace platform farmers can display their products and the customer can buy goods from multiple suppliers in one shop. This solution shortens the supply chain, which was the aim of the project.
In order to facilitate settlements between suppliers, we have created a special plug-in on the platform tailored to handle payments via przelewy24.
How does it work? A potential customer, when shopping, selects different products from several suppliers. For example, 4 eggs from farmer A and 6 carrots from farmer B. The customer pays for the total and our solution distributes the payment according to the order and, without having to create sub-accounts for each farmer, accounts for each of them. This gives us a fully automated process and there is no need to settle the final amounts manually.
